John brings 27 years of experience to Urban Concrete. John manages all estimating, sales, contracting and purchasing for the firm. Having started his career working for a multi-family builder, John understands the processes and needs of builders, giving him a special ability to work closely with the clients. John received his BA in Business Administration from California State University, Fullerton.

Tim has over 46 years of experience in the concrete construction industry. Tim worked as a Form-Setter, Foreman, and Superintendent for Orange County Concrete, Crown Concrete Construction, Kesner Vail Concrete and Silverado Concrete. Co-directing Urban Concrete’s field operations, Tim manages each jobs pickup operations and is known for his responsiveness and timeliness. He has been a member and past chair of Shea Homes’ Trade Council and Safety Council which meets monthly to address concerns and process improvement with its trade partners.
Tom brings 34 years of residential concrete field and supervisory experience to his role running field operations. This past experience included Supervisory positions with Orange County Concrete, Banner Concrete, and Silverado Concrete. Tom’s responsibilities include communicating with the customer’s superintendents in order to maintain schedules and manage expectations, as well as the placement of foremen, manpower, and equipment on all projects.
Ron has over 44 years supervisory experience in the concrete construction field. Past experience includes Form Setting for Orange County Concrete, Owner of Banner Concrete and Superintendent for both Campbell Concrete and Silverado Concrete. Ron assists both Tim Grant and Tom Newkirk in field operations serving as a liaison between the client, Urban’s office staff, and the job site to prepare the site to receive its crew.
Michele brings over 37 years of business experience in the residential concrete construction industry. She manages the company’s financial and business systems, overseeing and working with all facets of banking, insurance, legal compliance, tax compliance, computer systems, and accounting. Supervising an experienced and knowledgeable staff, she receives numerous compliments from auditors about the accuracy and thoroughness of the company’s records and reports.
Donald brings almost 47 years of concrete construction experience to Urban Concrete. Beginning in the early 1970’s, Donald became operations manager for Orange County Concrete. Eventually, he became an owner of both Banner Concrete and Silverado Concrete. Utilizing his vast experience in both field and office operations, he provides estimating and consulting services to Urban Concrete.
With well over 100 years of combined management experience, the Urban Concrete team brings a range of expertise in all areas of residential and commercial concrete construction. From the office to the field, the team at Urban Concrete covers all the bases with an experienced manager in place.
Safety is fundamental to the culture at Urban Concrete. We have instituted the highest levels of safety and formal safety programs.
CAL/OSHA has recognized Urban Concrete for implementing and maintaining an effective injury and illness prevention program.
All foremen and lead employees are certified in first aid, CPR and have received harassment training. Each foreman is required to have on the job site his “Foreman's Book” which includes all of Urban Concrete's written safety programs.
Foremen hold weekly “tailgate safety meetings” to discuss how to improve safety on their job site.
Every month each foreman evaluates the members of his crew and selects a “safety employee of the month.”
The employee receives an award certificate, a gift and are recognized in the companies' monthly newsletter.
Dedicated to giving back to the communities in which they work, Urban Concrete has answered the call, partnering with clients such as Brookfield Homes, Shea Homes, Laing Homes, Lennar, CALPASC and others donating both labor and material to help construct projects for people in need.
